Passo Falzarego is one of the many beautiful places in the Dolomites. One word is enough and lovers of nature, mountains and hiking rejoice. Likewise, enthusiasts of Italian cuisine or a sect of opticians called photographers squeal with joy. Of course, I forgot a lot of other enthusiasts of that natural wonder, I hope they won’t be offended now.
It was five days of photography for me and my colleagues. The forecast for the coming days did not favor us. Just like Grandpa Komárek would say, “I want it and I want it”. That is, exactly, it will be from our arrival to the time of our departure. Just classic Bingo.
The replacement program for photographers is…
Fine, it’ll be fine. The replacement program provides reds, which we buy in sufficient quantities on the way and according to the size of the four-legged steed’s trunk. However, with this sacrifice we satisfied the god of rain and in the end it rained continuously for only one day. So principle one, make your sacrifices.
Photography is a bit of a religious thing, at least sometimes
So they take pictures and take pictures for four whole days. It means getting up to temperatures around zero and in the nice dark. And the same in the mirror in the evening. In addition, the traditional return of a full field in a backpack for designated photo locations. In fact, from the fourth day I began to hate the yellow miracle on my back (photo backpack).
Nevertheless, you regularly take it to the summits and almost always find that seventy percent of the shops you never use and, on the contrary, you miss the ones that, thanks to your brilliant logical planning, you did not take and left at the base camp. Fortunately, and perhaps thanks to my age, I can now explain things properly, I don’t lash out, I don’t kick my backpack and I’m completely balanced :).
And how do you take pictures from the bog in Passo Falzarego?
It’s our last morning and we can go home. Nevertheless, we all definitely agree that we will go to take pictures one last time. Yes, after all that, we all have to somehow support ourselves to get up in the morning. We unanimously choose one of the locations where we have already taken photos. I am very happy for her. There is no path you are afraid to take. It’s a short distance away, so there’s no need to get up so early. And there is a parking lot. There are three different motifs (mountain tops) to take photos there and the way up is one of the really comfortable ones.
For me, not only Passo Falzarego, but the entire Dolomites is a photographic paradise
The place is called Passo Falzarego, and we can freely take pictures wherever we want (place location, link to mapy.cz).
Unfortunately, the morning sun is hidden behind clouds, so no dramatic romantic spectacle takes place. I am looking for a place with an interesting foreground, I have selected the background – it will be the beautiful Sas de Stria peak.
Swamp in the Dolomites, looking for the foreground of the photo
Finally I find a beautiful and somewhat smelly swamp. First, I carefully step around him in my new HogoFogo ankle boots. However, the shots are – in Cimrman’s style “bad, ugly thing”. After about half an hour, I’m coughing up shoes, good manners and playing miss. I head straight to the middle of the swamp and spend an hour enjoying it. I have two versions of the photo, I ended up sending the black and white one to the curators at the gallery and it was probably awarded for the shoes. Then I love the colored version at home.
